REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on December 20, 1982 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Solar Petroleum, Inc., for an order approving a secondary recovery program by injection of water into the "D" Sand reservoir underlying an area consisting of the S1/2 Section 25, Township 8 North, Range 60 West, Buckingham West Field, Weld County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      Solar Petroleum, Inc., as applicant herein, is an interested party in the subject matter of the above-referenced hearing.

2.      Due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

3.      The Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

4.      The "D" Sand reservoir to be affected underlies an area consisting of common ownership in the S1/2 Section 25, Township 8 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M.

5.      The proposed program for secondary recovery for injection of water into a well to be drilled at a location 2350 feet from the west line and 1030 feet from the north line of the S1/2 of said Section 25 into the "D" Sand reservoir underlying the lands described herein, is necessary to increase the ultimate recovery of oil from said reservoir, and will result in an additional recovery of oil with a value in excess of the estimated additional cost incident to conducting such operation. Therefore, the project should be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the secondary recovery program for the "D" Sand reservoir underlying lands consisting of the S1/2 Section 25, Township 8 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M., Buckingham West Field, Weld County, is hereby approved and the operator is authorized to inject water in said reservoir through a well to be drilled 2350 feet from the west line and 1030 feet from the north line of the S1/2 of said Section 25 in such quantities as shall be reasonable determined by the operator to best achieve the maximum recovery of oil without waste.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above orders.
