CAUSE NO. 77

ORDER NO. 77-4

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 16, 1978 at 9 a.m., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the Commission's own motion to consider the rescinding of the orders in Cause No. 77 for the Beacon Field, Adams County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on October 11, 1955, the Commission issued its Order No. 77-1 which established 40-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil and gas from the "D" Sand underlying the following described lands in Adams County, Colorado, to-wit:

Township 1 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M.

Section 6:  All

Section 7:  All

Township 1 South, Range 58 West, 6th P.M.

Section 1:  All

Section 12:  All

By Order No. 77-2, issued March 28, 1957, the Commission placed a maximum daily production limitation on wells located in the area described above, of 125 barrels of oil, or 200 Mcf of gas and any well with a gas-oil ratio of 20,000 to 1 or more shall be shut-in unless the gas produced is marketed, and then with a daily maximum from each 40-acre tract of 200,000 cubic feet.  Gas-oil ratio tests taken quarterly, as well as individual well reporting, are required by the order.  Order No. 77-3, issued January 28, 1958 amended Order No. 77-2 to allow more flexibility in the allowable rate of gas from the wells.

4.      That since the "D" Sand reservoir of the Beacon Field is in a depletion stage and the remaining producing wells in the field are no longer capable of producing beyond the maximum allowables as set forth in the orders in Cause No. 77, and in order to promote future development, the present orders in Cause No. 77 are no longer necessary and should be vacated and the area described in Finding 3 herein should be governed by the general rules and regulations of the Commission.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Order Nos. 77-1, 77-2 and 77-3 for the Beacon Field, Adams County, Colorado, are hereby rescinded and operations in the area, as described in Finding 3 herein, shall henceforth be governed by the general rules and regulations of the Commission.

ORDERED this 16th day of January, 1978.
