CAUSE NO. 57

ORDER NO. 57-8

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 17, 1975 at 9 a.m., in Room 532, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, and was further continued to July 15, 1975 after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Continental Oil Company, for an order to amend Order No. 57-7 to provide that any existing producing or shut-in well within the Unit Area may be converted to an injection well upon approval of the Director, and that additional wells may be drilled as necessary to be used as water injection wells.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on March 26, 1959, the Commission issued its Order No. 57-7 which, among other things, approved a waterflood project for secondary recovery purposes in the "J" Sand underlying the Plum Bush Creek Unit Area, and authorized the conversion of certain producing oil wells to wells for injection of water, and to drill certain additional wells as necessary to be used as water injection wells and to drill additional wells as necessary for the production of oil.

4.      That in order to have more flexibility in operation of the secondary recovery project, Order No. 57-7 should be amended to delete the word "certain" and allow the operator to convert any existing producing or shut-in well well [sic] within the boundaries of the unit Area to an injection well, upon approval of the Director and further, to allow the drilling of additional wells, as necessary, to be used as injection wells.

5.      That there were no objections to the application.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Order No. 57-7 is hereby amended and the operator of the Plum Bush Creek "J" Sand Unit is hereby permitted and authorized to convert presently producing wells or shut-in wells within the Unit Area to injection wells, upon approval of the Director and further, to drill additional wells as necessary, to be used as injection wells.

ORDERED this 17th day of July, 1975.
