CAUSE NO. 53

ORDER NO. 53-7

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 18, 1963, at 10 a.m., in Room 330, State Office Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing and receipt of Service or Waivers of Service thereof, all as required by law and the rules and regulations of the Commission, on applications submitted by the Monsanto Chemical Company, as Unit Operator of the Little Beaver-East Field.  Said applications request an order granting permission to convert to an additional water injection well the Little Beaver-East Unit No. 2 Well and authorizing the drilling of the Little Beaver-East Unit No. 23 Well as an additional producing well.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That engineering and geological testimony presented at the hearing indicates that conversion to an additional water injection well of the Little Beaver East Unit No. 2 Well, located in the center of the SE¼NW¼ of Section 3, Township 2 South, Range 56 West, 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado, should be permitted; and that the drilling of the Little Beaver East Unit No. 23 Well, located 2400 feet south of the north line and 1000 feet west of the east line of said Section 3, as an additional producing well should be authorized as an exception to the well location pattern established by Order No. 53-2, in order to continue to completion the secondary recovery program for the Little Beaver-East Unit Area.

4.      That the operations as outlined in Finding 3 above will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of said Little Beaver-East Unit Area.

5.      That the use and operation of said Little Beaver East Unit No. 2 well as an additional water injection well; and the drilling of the Little Beaver East Unit No. 23 well as an additional producing well will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from the "D" sand formation of the Little Beaver-East Field, and prevent waste.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Monsanto Chemical Company, as Unit Operator of the Little Beaver-East "D" Sand Unit Area, is hereby permitted and authorized to convert to an additional water injection well the Little Beaver East Unit No. 2 Well, located in the center of the SE¼NW¼ of Section 3, Township 2 South, Range 56 West, 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that said Monsanto Chemical Company is hereby permitted and authorized to drill as an additional producing well, and as an exception to the well location pattern established by Order No. 53-2, the Little Beaver East Unit No. 23 Well, located 2400 feet south of the north line and 1000 feet west of the east line of Section 3, Township 2 South, Range 56 West, 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above orders.

ORDERED this 18th day of June 1963.
