CAUSE NO. 31

ORDER NO. 31-6

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on February 23, 1960, at 10 a.m., in the Game Room of the Albany Hotel, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Frank H. Walsh, as duly appointed operator of the Masters Field, for an order approving the injection of water for secondary recovery purposes into the "D" sand reservoir of the Masters Field, through the Furrow No, 1 well located 330 feet east of the west line and 980 feet south of the north line of Section 30, Township 5 North, Range 60 West of the 6th P.M., Morgan County, Colorado, and for revision of the field rules governing the Masters Field. Also on the Commission's own motion, consideration was given to the deletion of certain portions of the Masters Field, as defined in Order No. 31-5.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That testimony presented at the hearing indicates that the injection of water into the "D" sand reservoir should add substantially to the ultimate recovery of oil from all the leases in the Masters Field, and that such secondary recovery project should be for the benefit of public interest, for conservation, and for the prevention of waste.

4.      That permission should be granted for conversion of Applicant's Furrow #1 well located 330 feet east of the west, line and 980 feet south of the north line of Section 30, Township 5 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M. Morgan County, Colorado, to a water injection well.

5.      That because of the secondary recovery program planned for the field, the field rules set forth in Order No. 31-5, Cause No. 31, should be rescinded.

6.      That subsequent development and testimony presented at the hearing reveal that certain portions of the Masters Field, as defined by said Order No. 31-5, should be deleted, as follows:

Township 5 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M.

Section 19:  W½

Section 30:  SW¼

Township 5 North, Range 61 West, 6th P.M.

Section 23:  E½

Section 25:  S/2

Section 24:  N½, N½ S½

Section 26:  E½

Section 30:  NW¼

Township 5 North, Range 61 West, 6th P.M.

Rule 3.    In the event that it becomes necessary in the future to convert additional producing wells to input wells, to plug and abandon certain wells in the Masters Field, or to drill additional producing or input wells as dictated by developments in the course of the operation of the water flood, the operator of the field is authorized to make such changes in the operation of the project as may be required to facilitate the efficient development thereof, subject to the approval of the Director of the Commission.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above orders, rules and regulations.

ORDERED this 23rd day of February 1960.
