REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

Application was made to the Commission by the Stanolind Oil and Gas Company requesting the Commission to promulgate and establish field rules to govern operations in the Ignacio Field, La Plata County, Colorado, with particular reference to those known producing zones located therein termed "Fruitland-Pictured Cliffs" and "Dakota-Morrison".

This matter first came on for hearing before the Commission on November 14, 1951, at 10:00 A.M., at 1280 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado, and was then heard as an emergency matter. The hearing was then adjourned to December 6, 1951, at 10:00 A.M.; at 1280 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado, and was then heard, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Act of 1951. Hearing on the matter was continued after December 6, 1951, until January 7, 1952.

Subsequent to said hearings in the above entitled matter, the Commission received a letter from the New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission advising this Commission of the interest of the New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission in the Ignacio Pool on the New Mexico side, and suggesting that before any orders issue from this Commission mutual problems in the Ignacio Pool should be studied jointly by both Commissions in co-operation with each other. Certainly co-operation and uniformity of policy between the New Mexico Conservation Commission and this Commission in the Ignacio area will be beneficial and in the public interest.

The Commission is also in receipt of a letter from the Stanolind Oil and Gas Company, the applicant, stating that the above entitled matter might be continued for a period of six months from January 7, 1952.

FINDINGS

It appearing to the Commission that the public interest would best be served by a joint conference between this Commission and the New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission as to mutual problems in the Ignacio area, the Commission does hereby declare and find that the above entitled matter should be continued for a period not exceeding 180 days from and after January 7, 1952.

ORDER

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, That the above entitled matter be continued for further hearing to July 7, 1952, at the hour of 10:00 A.M., at 330 State Office Building, Denver, Colorado.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this order shall be without waiver of rights by any party in interest and that the applicant, or any either party in interest, may at any time apply for an emergency order or other order affecting the field rules for the Ignacio area La Plata County, Colorado.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That, while this application is pending, no permit shall be issued for the drilling of any well, contrary to the pro-posed field rules for the Ignacio area, unless such permit be authorized by the action of the Commission after formal hearing and after notice to all the parties.

ORDERED this 7th day of January, 1952, by the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission of the State of Colorado.
