CAUSE NO. 26

ORDER NO. 26-46

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on May 26, 1959, at 10 a.m., in the Game Room of the Albany Hotel, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by statute, and mailing of copies of application, pursuant to the regulations of this Commission: on the application of The Pure Oil Company, as Operator of the Adena "J" Sand Unit, for an order permitting Applicant to continue pressure maintenance operations in said Adena "J" Sand Unit by injecting water into the "J" sand formation through additional wells W-36, W-37, W-38, W-39 and W-40.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law, and that all prerequisites to the granting hereof have been performed.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That pressure maintenance operations in the Adena "J" Sand Unit should be continued to completion in order to minimize waste of oil and gas in said field, and that the recompletion and operation of the injection wells numbered W-36, W-37, W-38, W-39 and W-40, as reflected in Applicant's Exhibit "A" in this cause, is essential for such purposes.

4.      That each of said wells is located on the Unit within one mile of certain tracts outside the Unit, but that pressure maintenance by injection of water in such wells, according to expert testimony presented, will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of said Unit.

5.      That the use and operation of said wells as water injection wells will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said pool and prevent waste.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Applicant herein, as Operator of the Adena "J" Sand Unit, is hereby permitted and authorized to recomplete additional wells for injection of water in order to extend pressure maintenance operations in the "J" sand by the injection of water into said wells, being wells No. W-36, W-37, W-38, W-39 and W-40.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions set out in Order No. 26-34 shall be applicable to the use and operations of said wells.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above provisions.

ORDERED this 26th day of May, 1959.
