IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE IRONDALE FIELD, ADAMS COUNTY, COLORADO Cause No. 251 Order No. 251-8

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on August 15, 1977 at 9 A.M., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Thomas G. Vessels, for an order authorizing the drilling of an additional well for the production of oil and associated hydro-carbons from the "D" Sand in the 80-acre drilling and spacing unit, at a location 1980 feet from the east line and 660 feet from the south line Section 24, Township 2 South, Range 62 West, 6th P.M.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1. That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3. That on March 21, 1972, the Commission issued its Order No. 251-1 which established 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil and associa-ted hydrocarbons from the "D" and "J" Sands underlying the Irondale Field, Adams County. The units consist of the N/2 and S/2 or the E/2 and W/2 of each quarter section with the per-mitted well located in the NW/4 and SE/4 of each quarter section with a tolerance of 150 feet to avoid surface hazards or obstructions. The spaced area was extended by Order No. 251-4.

4. That a well has been drilled and completed for production in the "D" and "J" Sands at a location in the NW/4 SE/4 Section 24, Township 2 South, Range 62 West, 6th P.M., and is the permitted well for the unit consisting of the W/2 SE/4 of said Section 24.

5. That evidence presented at the hearing indicates that one well is insufficient to adequately drain the oil and associated hydrocarbons from that part of the reservoir in the "D" Sand underlying the drilling and spacing unit consisting of the W/2 SE/4 of said Section 24, therefore, an additional well should be authorized to be drilled in said unit at a location 1980 feet from the east line and 660 feet from the south line of said Section 24.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that an additional well for the pro-duction of oil and associated hydrocarbons from the "D" Sand is hereby authorized to be drilled in the drilling and spacing unit consisting of the W/2 SE/4 Section 24, Township 2 South, Range 62 West, 6th P.M., Irondale Field, Adams County, Colorado, and that said well be located 1980 feet from the east line and 660 feet from the south line of said Section 24.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the above order shall become effective forthwith.

ORDERED this 15th day of August, 1977.
