CAUSE NO. 228

ORDER NO. 228-2

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 17, 1975 at 9 a.m., in Room 532, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Okmar Oil Company, for an order approving a secondary recovery program by injection of water into the "J" Sand reservoir underlying certain lands in the Badger Creek-West Field, Adams County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That the "J" Sand reservoir to be affected underlies an area consisting of State leases with common ownership in Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M., Badger Creek-West Field, Adams County, and that the secondary recovery project has been approved by the State Board of Land Commissioners.

4.      That the proposed program for secondary recovery by injection or water into the Well No. 1-16 State, located in the NE¼SW¼ Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M. into the "J" Sand reservoir underlying lands as described herein, is necessary to increase the ultimate recovery of oil from said area, and will result in an additional recovery of oil with a value in excess of the estimated additional cost incident to conducting such operation. Therefore, the project should be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the secondary recovery program for the "J" Sand reservoir, underlying certain lands in Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M., Badger Creek-West Field, Adams County, Colorado, is hereby approved and the operator is authorized to inject water into said reservoir through Well No. 1-16 State located in the NE¼SW¼ of said Section 16 in such quantities as shall be reasonably determined by the operator to best achieve the maximum recovery of oil without waste.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith.

ORDERED this 17th day of June, 1975.
