ORDER NO. 2-36

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on August 15, 1983 at 9:00 A.M., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Chevron, U.S.A., Inc., for an order granting an exception to Rule 318 of the rules and regulations of the Commission and allow a well to be drilled to the Madison formation at a location 2559 feet from the south line and 1205 feet from the east line, Section 31, Township 2 North, Range 102 West, 6th P.M., Rangely Field, Rio Blanco County, Colorado.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      Chevron, U.S.A., Inc., as applicant herein, is an interested party in the subject matter of the above-referenced hearing.

 

2.      Due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

3.      The Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

4.      An infill unit well is to be drilled by the Applicant, in the Rangely Weber Sand Unit Area at a location 2559 feet from the south line and 1205 feet from the east line, Section 31, Township 2 North, Range 102 West, 6th P.M. However, it is proposed to deepen said well into the Madison formation, which is not subject to the Rangely Weber Sand Unit and at total depth, will be less than 600 feet from another lease line.

 

5.      An exception to Rule 318 should be granted and allow said well to be drilled into the Madison formation.

 

6.      No objections to the application were received.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that an exception to Rule 318 is hereby granted for a well to be drilled into the Madison formation at a location 2559 feet from the south line and 1205 feet from the east line, Section 31, Township 2 North, Range 102 West, 6th P.M., Rangely Weber Sand Unit Area, Rio Blanco County, Colorado.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith. 9TH Day of September ENTERED this 9th day of September, 1983, as of August 15, 1983.
