                    REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

           This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on February 22, 1993 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 101, State Education Building, 201 East Colfax, Denver, Colorado after giving Notice of Hearing, as required by law on the verified application of Samson Oil Company to allow an additional well to be drilled 1220 feet FNL and 1220 feet FWL in Section 16, Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M. for the 640-acre drilling and spacing unit consisting of said Section 16 for production from the Topeka Limestone Formation. 

                           

                          FINDINGS

 

            The Commission finds as follows:

 

            1. That Samson Oil Company, as applicant herein,is an interested party in the subject matter of the above-entitled hearing.

 

            2. That due notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

            3. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

            4. That on July 14, 1966 the Commission issued Order No. 197-1 which established 640-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Topeka Limestone Formation underlying Vilas Field, with the permitted well to be located within a radius of 1200 feet from the center of the drilling unit.

 

            5. That Section 16, Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M. is included in the area established by Order No. 197-1.

 

            6. That there is an existing well, Nellie Cope No. 1-16 ,currently producing from the Topeka Limestone Formation for the drilling and spacing unit consisting of said Section 16.

 

            7. That based on the facts stated in the verified application and having been heard by the Hearing Officer on February 18, 1993, and recommended for approval, the Commission should approve the request and amend Order No. 197-1 and allow an additional well to be drilled on the 640-acre drilling and spacing unit consisting of said Section 16 for production from the Topeka Limestone Formation underlying said unit.                    

 

                            ORDER

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that an additional well be authorized to be drilled 1220 feet FNL and 1220 feet FWL in Section 16, Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M. for the 640-acre drilling and spacing unit consisting of said Section 16, for production from the Topeka Limestone Formation underlying said Section 16.

 

            IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that with the verbal consent of the interested parties at the time of hearing, this order shall become effective forthwith.

 

            IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above orders.
