ORDER NO. 197-6

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on July 18, 1977, at 9 a.m., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Marshall and Winston, Inc. for an order extending the spaced area of the Vilas Field.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That on July 14, 1966 the Commission issued its Order No. 197-1 which established 640-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Topeka Limestone formation underlying the Vilas Field, with the permitted well located within a radius of 1200 feet of the center of the drilling unit.  Subsequent orders added and deleted lands from the spaced area.

 

4.      That testimony at the hearing indicates that the Topeka Limestone formation constitutes a common source of supply of gas underlying, in addition to the area set forth in previous orders in Cause No. 197, the following described lands in Baca County, Colorado, to-wit:

 

Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M.

Section 25:

All of the lands in Tract 92 which lie in Section 25 (being Lots 8, 9, 20 and 21).

 

 

 

All of the lands in Tract 93 which lie in Section 25 (being Lots 3, 4 and 6).

 

 

 

All of the lands in Tract 96 which lie in Section 25 (being Lots 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 18).

 

 


 

 

Lots 1, 2, 5, 7, 13, 14, 17, 19, 22, 23, 24 and 25.

 

 

 

N½ Lot 26, N½ Lot 27, N½ Lot 28, N½ Lot 29 and N½ Lot 30.

 

 

 

N½ NE¼ SW¼

 

(638.66 acres)

 

and that said lands should be a designated unit and made subject to the provisions of Order No. 197-1 with the permitted well the No. 1-25 Thompson, located in the NE¼NE¼ Section 25, Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the lands as described in Finding 4 herein shall be subject to the provisions of Order No. 197-1 and such lands shall be a designated unit and the permitted well shall be the No. 1-25 Thompson, located in the NE¼NE¼ Section 25, Township 31 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the spaced area as established by Order No. 197-1 for the Vilas Field shall henceforth include the following described lands in Baca County, Colorado, to-wit:

 

Township 30 South, Range 44 West, 6th P.M.
