CAUSE NO. 187

ORDER NO. 187-1

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on April 20, 1965, at 10 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Shell Oil Company for an order approving conversion of its B.E. Rice Well No. 1 to a water disposal well in the "J" sand, producing formation in the Springdale-South Field.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That the wells in the Springdale-South Field are producing oil from the "J" sand formation.

4.      That Applicant's proposal to dispose of produced water through existing perforations in the B.E. Rice No. 1 well located in the NW¼SW¼NE¼ of Section 28, Township 8 North, Range 53 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado, will cause no waste or damage in the "J" sand reservoir, and may result in a greater ultimate recovery of oil, and should therefore be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

5.      That testimony presented at the hearing indicates that an agreement entered into by the Applicant and others will reasonably protect the correlative rights of persons adversely affected by the conversion of said B.E. Rice No. 1 well to a water disposal well.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that Applicant's proposal to dispose of produced water from the "J" sand reservoir in the Springdale-South Field into the B.E. Rice No. 1 well, located in the NW¼SW¼NE¼ of Section 28, Township 8 North, Range 53 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado, is hereby approved.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that, the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above order.

ORDERED this 20th day of April 1965.
