REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 18, 1963, at 10 a.m., in Room 330, State Office Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, and mailing of copies of the application pursuant to regulations of this Commission, on the application of the Sunray DX Oil Company for an order approving a proposed water injection program for the "J" sand formation underlying an area referred to as the "Project Area."  At the hearing, the application was amended by the deletion of paragraph 10 relating to a possible change of the location of the proposed injection well and the use of additional wells for water injection.

Section 6:

Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, and SW¼NE¼ and SE¼NW¼

4.      That Applicant's proposed water injection plan for injection of water into the "J" sand formation underlying said "Project Area" through the Sunray DX Oil Company-Knudsen #5 well located 605 feet south of the north line and 330 feet west of the east line of Lot 1 of Section 1, Township 8 North, Range 53 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado, will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said "Project Area" by supplementing the present water drive affecting the wells producing from said "J" sand formation, and should therefore be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

5.      That avoidable waste of oil and gas will be prevented by the operations proposed by Applicant, and the correlative rights of any owner outside of said "Project Area" will not be adversely affected and will be reasonably protected under such a plan of operation; and that in the interest of securing the greatest ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said pool, and the prevention of waste and protection of correlative rights, this application should be granted.
