CAUSE NO. 166

ORDER NO. 166-9

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on May 16, 1972, at 9 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Polumbus Corporation for an order authorizing the drilling of an additional well in the drilling unit consisting of Section 24, Township 10 South, Range 96 West, 6th P.M., Plateau Field, Mesa County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by Law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on April 17, 1962, the Commission issued its Order No. 166-1 for the Plateau Field which, among other things, established 640-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of gas from the Mesaverde formation (to include the "Corcoran" sandstone as its basal member, with the permitted well for each such drilling unit to be located no closer than 1320 feet from any section line.

4.      That there is a well located 2740 feet from the South line and 2318 feet from the East line in said Section 24 which produces gas from said Mesaverde formation.

5.      That evidence presented at the hearing indicates that one well is insufficient to adequately drain the gas from that part of the reservoir underlying the drilling unit and, therefore, an additional well should be authorized to be drilled in the drilling and spacing unit consisting of Section 24, Township 10 South, Range 96 West, 6th P.M., and that such well should be located in the NW/4 and no closer than 1320 feet from the boundaries on said Section.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that an additional well is hereby authorized to be drilled in the drilling and spacing unit consisting of Section 24, Township 10 North, Range 96 West, 6th P.M., Plateau Field, Mesa County, Colorado, and that such well shall be located in the NW¼ and no closer than 1320 feet from the boundaries of said Section.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective herewith.

ORDERED this 16th day of May 1972.
