ORDER NO. 153-3

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 20, 1967, at 10 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, and mailing of copies of the application, pursuant to the regulations of the Commission on the application of Texaco, Inc. for an order approving conversion of its Gov't.-Treleaven Well No. 1 to a water injection well. in the Morrison formation.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the bearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That a program for the injection of water into the Morrison formation was approved by the Commission in its Order No. 153-1 issued June 20, 1961, and that such a program should be continued by conversion of the Gov't.-Treleaven Well No. 1, located in the SW¼SW¼ of Section 32, Township 5 North, Range 95 West, 6th P.M., Moffat County, Colorado, to a water injection well.

 

4.      That the proposed project, as presented by Applicant, will increase the ultimate recovery of oil from the Danforth Hills Field, and will dispose of water being produced from other wells, and should therefore be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

 

5.      That avoidable waste of oil and gas will be prevented by the operations proposed by Applicant, and that in the interest of securing the greatest ultimate recovery of oil from said formation, and for the prevention of waste, this application should be granted.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Texaco, Inc. is hereby permitted and authorized to convert to a water injection well its Gov't.-Treleaven Well No. 1, located in the SW¼SW¼ of Section 32, Township 5 North, Range 95 West, 6th P.M., Moffat County, Colorado, for the purpose of injecting water into the Morrison formation underlying the Danforth Hills Field.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions of the above order shall be-come effective forthwith.
