CAUSE NO. 152

ORDER NO. 152-1

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 10, 1961, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 720, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Sinclair Oil & Gas Company for an order granting permission and authority to dually complete its W. E. Dickenson, Jr. Well No. 2, located 660 feet from the south line and 1980 feet from the west line of Section 6, Township 9 North, Range 52 West of the 6th P. M., Logan County, Colorado, in the "J" sand and the "O" sand, and to produce same separately and without commingling.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and or the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That Applicant is the owner and operator of oil and gas leases which cover among other lands, the SE¼ SW¼ of Section 6, Township 9 North, Range 52 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado; and that it has drilled its W. E. Dickenson, Jr. Well No. 2, located 660 feet from the south line and 1980 feet from the west line of said Section 6 in the above described tract; and that said well is now producing from the "J" sand formation.

4.      That in the drilling of said well, the "J" sand formation was encountered between the approximate depths of 4748 feet to 4834 feet, and the "O" sand formation was encountered between the approximate depths of 4947 feet to 5077 feet; and that said well is now producing from the "J" sand through perforations between the approximate depths of 4752 feet and 4754 feet; that the "O" sand formation will be perforated between the approximate depths of 5004 feet and 5020 feet; and that said well will then be capable of producing from both the "J" sand formation and the "O" sand formation.

5.      That all available geological and engineering data concerning said W. E. Dickenson, Jr. Well No. 2 indicate that said well can have dual zone completion by perforating at the above intervals and producing according to the proposed method shown in detail on Applicant's Exhibit "A", with production from each of said sands brought to the surface separately and without commingling in the well bore.

6.      That the granting of Applicant's request, and the completion and production of said well in the manner hereinabove described, will not result in waste, and that no damage will result to either formation because of such dual zone completion.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that authority is hereby granted the Sinclair Oil & Gas Company for dual zone completion of its W. E. Dickenson, Jr. Well No. 2, located 660 feet from the south line and 1980 feet from the west line of Section 6, Township 9 North, Range 52 West of the 6th P.M., in the Padroni-West Field, Logan County, Colorado, through perforations in the casing opposite the "J" sand formation between the approximate depths of 4752 feet and 4754 feet, and perforating the casing opposite the "O" sand formation between the approximate depths of 5004 feet and 5020 feet, and then producing according to the proposed method shown on Applicant's Exhibit "A", with production from each of said sands brought to the surface separately and without commingling in the well bore.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above order.

ORDERED this 10th day of January 1961.
