REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on April 18, 1967, at 10 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Monsanto Company for an order authorizing conversion of additional producing wells and dry holes to water input wells in order to supplement the water injection program being carried on as authorized by Orders No. 134-3 and 134-4.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on January 24, 1961, the Commission issued its Order No. 134-3 which, among other things, approved a Unit Agreement and waterflood program for the "D" sand reservoir underlying the Nugget Unit Area, and that said order was subsequently amended to approve conversion of another well to a water input well.

4.      That in addition to injection wells authorized by Order No. 134-3 and Order No. 134-4, Applicant should be granted permission to convert to water input service, from time to time as deemed advisable, any producing well or dry hole in the "D" sand reservoir underlying the Nugget Unit Area in order to supplement the Nugget Field water flood program.

5.      That the use and operation of these wells to water injection wells will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from the "D" sand reservoir of the Nugget Field and so prevent waste.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Operator of the Nugget Unit Area is hereby permitted and authorized to convert to water input wells any producing well or dry hole in the "D" sand reservoir underlying the Nugget Unit Area when, from time to time it is deemed advisable in order to supplement the Nugget Field water flood program.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith.
