ORDER NO. 134-4

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 16, 1962, at 10 a.m., in Room 330, State Office Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of' Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Monsanto Chemical Company, as Operator of the Nugget Unit Area, for an order approving conversion of an abandoned cased well known as the No. 2-A Barnes well a water input well, in order to supplement the water injection program approved the Nugget Unit Area by Order No. 134-3, issued January 24, 1961.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law; and that all prerequisites to the granting hereof have been performed.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That the water injection program in the Nugget Unit Area should be continued to completion in order to minimize waste of oil and gas in said field, and that the conversion of the abandoned cased well known as the No. 2-A Barnes well, located in the SE¼ SE¼ NW¼ of Section 20, Township 1 South, Range 56 West of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado, to a water input well is essential for such purpose.

 

4.      That, according to geological and engineering information available, the injection of water into said No. 2-A Barnes well will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of said Nugget Unit Area.

 

5.      That the use and operation of said well as a water injection well will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from the "D" sand formation of the Nugget Field and prevent waste.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Monsanto Chemical Company, as Operator of the Nugget Unit Area, is hereby permitted and authorized to a water input well, the No. 2-A Barnes well, located in the SE¼ SE¼ NW¼ Section 20, Township 1 South, Range 56 West of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above order.
