REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on April 19, 1966, at 10 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law and mailing of copies of application pursuant to regulations of this Commission on the application of Colorado Oil and Gas Corporation for an order approving proposed project for water injection into the "D" sand formation, Rake Field, Morgan County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That the "D" sand formation constitutes a common source of supply of oil and gas underlying the NW¼, Section 26, Township 4 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M., the area involved by the proposed injection project.

4.      That injection of water into the Colorado's Alles No. 1 well located in the NW NW [sic] of said Section 26, will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said project area and should, therefore, be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.

5.      That avoidable waste of oil and gas will be prevented by the operations proposed by Applicant and the correlative rights of any owner, outside of said project area, will not be adversely affected and will be reasonable protected under such a plan of operation.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Applicant's proposed project for injection of water into the "D" sand reservoir of the Colorado's Alles No. 1 well located in the NW NW [sic], Section 26, Township 4 North, Range 60 West, 6th P.M., to aid in the recovery of oil is hereby approved and the operator is authorized to inject water into said reservoir through said well in such quantities as shall be reasonably determined by applicant to best achieve the maximum recovery of oil without waste.
