CAUSE NO. 121

ORDER NO. 121-2

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on August 9, 1960, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 227, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of The California Company, as Unit Operator, for an order permitting Applicant to continue pressure maintenance operations in the Lyons sand pool underlying the Black Hollow Unit Area by converting the Baiamonte well #4 to an injection well for the purpose of returning water produced with oil from wells located on the unitized lands to the formation from which such water is produced.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That a Unit Agreement and pressure maintenance program by water injection into the oil section of the Lyons sand pool underlying the Black Hollow Unit Area was approved by the Commission's Order No. 121-1, July 22, 1958, and that such pressure maintenance program should be continued by the conversion of the Baiamonte well No. 4, located in the SE¼NW¼ of Section 6, Township 7 North, Range 66 West of the 6th P.M., to an injection well for the purpose of returning water produced with oil from wells located on the Unitized lands to the formation from which such water is produced.

4.      That, according to geological and engineering information available, pressure maintenance by injection of water in said well will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of said Unit.

5.      That the use and operation of said well as a water injection well will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from the Lyons sand pool of the Black Hollow Field and prevent waste.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that The California Company, as Operator of the Black Hollow Unit Area, is hereby permitted and authorized to convert to a water injection well the Baiamonte well No. 4, located in the SE¼NW¼ of Section 6, Township 7 North, Range 66 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above order.

ORDERED this 9th day of August 1960.
