Work Group Summary

PROCESS WORK GROUP

The Process Work Group will consider new and revised procedures for approving oil and gas operations by using Form 34, comprehensive development plans, geographic area plans, or other proposals.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH WORK GROUP

The Environmental and Health Work Group will discuss mechanisms for implementing requirements of HB 1341 including triggers for consultation with CDPHE, and requirements and measures for protecting public health, safety, welfare and the environment.

WILDLIFE WORK GROUP

The Wildlife Work Group will discuss mechanisms for implementing requirements of HB 1298 including triggers for consultation with CDOW, and standard operating practices and best management practices for avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating impacts to wildlife.

STUDIES WORK GROUP

Questions have arisen about whether direct or cumulative impacts are occurring to public health and air quality from oil and gas operations. The Studies Work Group will identify studies or investigations for the compilation, collection, and analysis of scientific data to help answer these questions and to be used to develop recommendations for best management practices that could be implemented to mitigate impacts should they be identified.

ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS WORK GROUP

The Additional Regulations Work Group will identify the need and recommend new rules or amendments to existing rules which are not being addressed by the other work groups, or where there are no rules, the rules do not meet current standards, or the rules do not provide adequate protection under COGCC jurisdiction.
