IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE SPINDLE FIELD, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO Cause No. 250 Order No. 250-6

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 16, 1973, at 9 A.M., in the Auditorium, Social Services Building, 1575 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Amoco Production Company, for an order extending the field limits of the Spindle Field, and establishing for the additional area 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil from the Sussex formation as provided for in Order No. 250-1.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1. That due notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3. That on March 21, 1972, the Commission issued its Order No. 250-1 which, among other things, established 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the produc-tion of oil from the Sussex formation underlying the Spindle Field, and the permitted well for each unit to be located in the center of the NE/4 and SW/4 of each quarter section. The area was extended by Order No. 250-2. A provision to grant exceptions administra-tively under certain conditions, was established by Order No. 250-3.

4. That testimony presented at the hearing indicates a common source of supply of oil underlies, in addition to the area set forth in Order Nos. 250-1 and 250-2, the following described lands in Weld County, Colorado, to-wit: Township 1 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M. Section 6: W/2 Section 18: W/2 Section 7: W/2 Section 19: W/2 Township 1 North, Range 67 West, 6th P.M. Section 1: All Section 13: All Section 6: All Section 22: All Section 7: All Section 23: All Section 12: All Section 24: All Township 2 North, Range 67 West, 6th P.M. Section 25: All Section 35: All Section 26: All Section 36: All and that such area should be made subject to the provisions of Order No. 250-1.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the area set forth in Finding 4 herein shall be subject to the provisions of Order Nos. 250-1, 250-2 and 250-3, and the Spindle Field shall henceforth include the following described lands in Weld County, Colorado, to-wit: Township 1 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M. Section 6: W/2 Section 18: W/2 Section 7: W/2 Section 19: W/2 Township 1 North, Range 67 West, 6th P.M. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves the right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend, or repeal any part of or all of the above order.
