IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE SPINDLE FIELD, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO Cause No. 250 Order No. 250-26

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on September 15, 1980 at 9:00 A.M., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing, as required by law, on the application of Amoco Production Company for an order to amend Order No. 250-12 and allow additional wells on each 80-acre drilling and spacing unit in the NW/4 Section 7, Township 2 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M., for the production of oil from the Sussex formation underlying said lands.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1. Amoco Production Company, as applicant herein, is an interested party in the subject matter of the above-referenced hearing.

2. Due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

3. The Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

4. On May 18, 1976, the Commission issued its Order No. 250-12 which allowed for the drilling of additional wells in each 80-acre drilling and spacing unit, established by previous orders in Cause No. 250 for the production of oil from the Sussex and Shannon formations. However, the NW/4 Section 7, Township 2 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M., was not included in the area allowing the drilling of additional wells, and the 80-acre units were maintained since the area was considered to be productive of gas rather than oil.

5. Evidence presented at the hearing indicates that the area is now con-sidered to be productive of oil and one well will not adequately drain an area of 80-acres from the Sussex formation, therefore, Order No. 250-12 should be amended to include the NW/4 Section 7, Township 2 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M., and allow an additional well on each 80-acre drilling and spacing unit for the production of oil from the Sussex formation underlying said lands.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Order No. 250-12 is hereby amended to include the NW/4 Section 7, Township 2 North, Range 66 West, 6th P.M., and an additional well on each 80-acre drilling and spacing unit is hereby allowed for the production of oil from the Sussex formation underlying said lands.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in this order shall become effective forthwith.

ENTERED this 25th day of 2980, as of September 15, 1980.
