IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE SPINDLE FIELD (SHANNON FORMATION), WELD COUNTY, COLORADO Cause No. 250 Order No. 250-10

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on November 19, 1974, at 9 A.M. in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of J. H. Bander, for an order extending the field limits of the Spindle Field (Shannon Formation) and establishing for the additional area 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil from the Shannon formation as provided for in Order No. 250-5.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1. That due notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3. That on September 19, 1972, the Commission issued its Order No. 250-5 which, among other things, established 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil from the Shannon formation underlying a portion of the Spindle Field, and the per-mitted well for each unit to be located in the center of the NE/4 and SW/4 of each quarter section.

4. That testimony presented at the hearing indicates that the Shannon for-ation is a common source of supply of oil underlying, in addition to the area set forth Order No. 250-5, all of Sections 16 and 17, Township 2 North, Range 67 West, 6th P.M.: addition, data from the official records of the Commission indicate that said Shannon formation is also present in Section 18, Township 2 North, Range 67 West, 6th P.M. and in order to extend uniform development of said formation and to protect correlative rights, all of said Section 18 should also be included in the area to be spaced; therefore, the area consisting of all of said Sections 16, 17 and 18 should be made subject to the provisions of Order No. 250-5.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the area as described in Finding 4 herein shall be subject to the provisions of Order No. 250-5 and the Spindle Field (Shannon Formation) shall henceforth include the following described lands in Weld County, Colorado, to-wit:

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves the right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend, or repeal any part of and/or all of the above order.
