CAUSE NO. 218

ORDER NO. 218-2

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 20, 1977, at 9 a.m., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Tom Jordan, for an order deleting from the spaced area as established by Order No. 218-1 the SW¼, W½NW¼ and the W½SE¼ of Section 31, Township 1 South, Range 60 West and establishing 80-acre drilling and spacing units consisting of the W½NW¼, E½SW¼, W½SW¼ and the W½SE¼ of said Section 31, with permitted wells located in the SW¼NW¼, NW¼SW¼, SE¼SW¼ and the SW¼SE¼ of said section; or in the alternative, to divide the “D” Sand reservoir, as established by said Order 218-1, into zones and establish the area described above as a separate zone with units and well locations as described above; or in the alternative, grant exceptions to the spacing pattern as established for the field, and allow a well to be drilled in the center of the NW¼SW¼ and a well to be drilled in the center of the SE¼SW¼ with tolerances to avoid surface hazards.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That evidence presented at the hearing indicates that wells drilled at the permitted locations in the SW¼ Section 31, Township 1 South, Range 60 West, 6th P.M. would not be productive; therefore, exceptions to the spacing pattern, as established by Order No. 218-1, should be allowed for a well to be drilled in the center of the NW¼SW¼, and that it be the permitted well for the unit consisting of the W½SW¼ of said Section 31, and a well to be drilled in the SE¼SW¼, and that it be the permitted well for the unit consisting of the E½SW¼ of said Section 31.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that exceptions are hereby granted for a well to be drilled at a location in the center of the NW¼SW¼ Section 31, Township 1 South, Range 60 West, 6th P.M., and that it be the permitted well for the unit consisting of the W½SW¼ of said Section 31, and a well to be drilled at a location in the center of the SE¼SW¼ of said Section 31, and that it be the permitted well for the unit consisting of the E½SW¼ of said Section 31.  Both locations shall be allowed a reasonable tolerance, if necessary, to avoid surface hazards.

ORDERED this 20th day of June, 1977.
