CAUSE NO. 13

ORDER NO. 13-2

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on August 7, 1956, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 243, State Capitol, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Sinclair Oil & Gas Company to inject water in the "D" sand member of the Muddy formation in the Willard Field, Logan County, Colorado, by the conversion of applicant's W.M. Phillips Well No. 3 to a water supply and injection well.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That the injection of water into the "D" sand of the Muddy formation should add substantially to the ultimate recovery of hydrocarbons from the Willard Field, the rate of injection depending upon water supply capacity and producing well performance.

4.      That permission should be granted for conversion of applicant's W. M. Phillips Well No. 3 located in the Center of the SW/4 NW/4 SW/4 of Section 19, Township 7 North, Range 54 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado, to a water supply well, perforating the 7" OD casing between 960 feet and 970 feet, lifting the water to the surface by conventional pumping, and after measurement by meter, to inject the water in the "D" sand in the same well bore, maintaining separation of the supply and injection water in the well bore.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Sinclair Oil & Gas Company be and it is hereby granted permission to conduct a water injection project by converting its W. M. Phillips Well No. 3 located in the Center of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (C SW/4 NW/4 SW/4) of section Nineteen (19), Township Seven (7) North, Range Fifty-four (54) West, 6th P.M., in the Willard Field, Logan County, Colorado, to a water supply well by perforating the seven inch (7") OD casing between Nine Hundred Sixty feet and Nine Hundred Seventy feet (960’ – 970’), the water to be lifted to the surface by conventional pumping, and after measurement by meter, injected into the "D" sand member of the Muddy formation in the same well bore, separation of the supply and injection water to be maintained in the well bore.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice of hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any/and/or all of the above rules and regulations.

ORDERED this 7th day of August, 1956.
