CAUSE NO. 118

ORDER NO. 118-2

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on February 13, 1964, at 10 a.m., in Room 330, State Office Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of The British American Oil Producing Company for an order granting permission and authority to commingle production from the "D" and "J" sand reservoirs in the well bores of the Fogale No. 1 well and the Elwood No. A-1 well.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on May 27, 1958, the Commission issued its Order No. 118-1 which, among other things, established drilling units of approximately 640 acres for the production of gas from the "D" and "J" sand reservoirs underlying the Little Hoot Field, and granted authority to The British American Oil Producing Company for multiple zone completions of its Fogale No. 1 well located in the NW¼SE¼ of Section 35, Township 11 North, Range 54 West, and its Elwood No. A-1 well located in the SW¼NE¼ of Section 15, Township 10 North, Range 54 West, Logan County, Colorado, in the "D" and "J" sand reservoirs, without commingling in the well bore.

4.      That said Fogale No. 1 well and said Elwood No. A-1 well are currently dually completed for production from the "D" and "J" sand reservoirs without commingling in either well bore.

5.      That all available geological and engineering data indicate that the operator should be permitted to recomplete said wells by removal of the packers from each of said dually completed wells to allow the wells to be simultaneously produced from the "D" and "J" sand reservoirs, with such production commingled in the respective well bores.

6.      That the granting of petitioner's application, and the completion and production of said wells in the manner hereinabove described, will not result in waste; and that no damage will result to said formations because of such commingling of production from the "D" and "J" sand formations.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the following rules and regulations shall apply hereafter to the Fogale No. 1 well located in the NW¼SE¼ of Section 5, Township 11 North, Range 54 West; and to the Elwood No. A-1 well located in the SW¼NE¼ of Section 15, Township 10 North, Range 54 West, 6th P.M., Logan County, Colorado, in addition to other applicable rules and regulations and orders of this Commission, if any, heretofore adopted and not in conflict herewith:

Rule 1.    Authority is hereby granted The British American Oil Producing Company for recompletion of said Fogale No. 1 well and said Elwood No. A-1 well by the removal of the packers from each of these dually completed wells so as to allow said wells to be simultaneously produced from the "D" and "J" sand formations with such production commingled in the respective well bores.

Rule 2.    Similar dual completions with commingling in one well bore in other wells in the Little Hoot Field may be approved and authorized upon application this Commission.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend, or repeal any and/or all of the above rules and regulations.

ORDERED this 18th day of February 1964.
